The last day of May was also the last day this year when the participants and lecturers of the DS&BI Academy VŠE met together for its closing ceremony. Also this year, already in the 5th year, a competition for the best project was held in the Data Science block. The winner was the Rumcajs Data Patrol team, which focused on predicting voter turnout based on data related to the quality of life of residents. Adastra is an annual partner of the project.

However, it was not easy for the judges consisting of Dagmar Bínová, Radek Nevyhoštěný and Jan Jirka to choose the winner. All four teams prepared very nice projects and took care in the selection of business topics.
After last year’s session, which took place entirely online, the live sessions were enjoyed by the lecturers and participants, who were very active throughout the four blocks in teaching and also in discussions.
Some parts of this year’s program, which traditionally included an introduction to Data Science, preparation of datamaps, creation of analytical models and then their evaluation and interpretation, were a bit more challenging, but the students managed them well. They gave a lot of thought to business topics and tried to enrich and understand the data. There were few errors in the codes and the calculations were carried through to completion.
The participants of the 5th year of the DS&BI Academy have an excellent start in practice.
