In 2018, the turnover of the Adastra Group in the Czech Republic reached CZK 1.295 billion (USD 59.7 million, EUR 50.5 million), growing by 23 per cent over 2017. This increase is due primarily to a rise in corporate demand for solutions related to digitalization. Globally, the Adastra Group’s 2018 revenues climbed to CZK 3.513 billion (USD 161.9 million, EUR 136.9 million).

Last year, the Czech division of the Adastra Group increased its turnover by 23%, growing from CZK 1.055 billion (USD 45.24 million, EUR 40 million) in 2017 to CZK 1.295 billion (USD 59.7 million, EUR 50.5 million) in 2018. In addition, the entire multinational Adastra Group posted a 16% increase in revenues, which rose from CZK 3.018 billion (USD 129.4 million, EUR 114.5 million) in 2017 to CZK 3.513 billion (USD 161.9 million, EUR 136.9 million) in 2018.

Over the course of 2018, Adastra focused not only on clients from industries such as banking, insurance, retail and telecoms but also, newly, on the pharmaceutical and energy sectors. At the same time, Adastra started cooperating on new projects with other important companies on the Czech and foreign markets, for example, VIG RE insurance, Mastercard, Česká televize (Czech Television), AstraZeneca, Moravské naftové doly, Alza in Hungary, Benzina, and world leader in commercial real estate services CBRE.

Likewise in 2018, Adastra Group also acquired a 50% stake in Proboston Creative. As a result, Adastra can now offer its clients a comprehensive suite of services, ranging from consulting and implementing solutions for digital transformations to marketing and creative strategies.

“We now supply our customers with all the key competencies for digitalization under one umbrella. However, experience shows that a common obstacle to transformative projects is not money but employees’ concern that they’ll be replaced by algorithms, as well as customers’ reluctance to accept change. An integral component of corporate digitalization is thus effective communication, both internal and external, and an emphasis on user experience (UX/UI). Thanks to Proboston, we’re now able to offer all this as part of what we deliver,” says Pavel Kysela, Adastra CEO.

The year 2018 also saw the Adastra Group open new offices in Detroit and in Bangkok. The aim of the Detroit branch is to expand business in the American Midwest, while the Bangkok office is Adastra’s gateway to the Asian market.

Almost 200 new employees joined the Adastra Group team in the Czech Republic last year, bringing the total number of people to just under 800. The number of consultants in the Adastra Group as a whole grew to more than 1750.
