Škoda Auto: Calculating the right pallet combination takes just 30 seconds

From the logistics center in Mladá Boleslav, containers loaded with pallets of parts for car assembly abroad are shipped daily. However, finding new loading combinations was becoming increasingly difficult. By deploying optimization algorithms wrapped in OPTIKON and digitizing the loading planning process, we achieved the following together:

  • €840,000 in savings in the first year of use,
  • a reduction in dispatches of 300 containers in the first year of service,
  • reducing the time taken to select the right pallet combination to 30 seconds,
  • saving 162 tonnes of CO2 emissions,
  • facilitating the training process for new staff,
  • the possibility of detecting systemic packaging errors.

ŠKODA AUTO wants to offer the OPTIKON system to other brands within the Group so that they can also benefit from the advantages of artificial intelligence.

IKEA: 7 stores in 3 Central European countries covered by a new data warehouse



months to implement the solution - from design to the web customer portal

The data warehouse project was linked to the customer data quality project. The new DWH collects and centralizes data from 4 IKEA stores in the Czech Republic, 2 in Hungary, and 1 store in Slovakia. The solution runs in the cloud accessible via VPN, i.e., secure, and is provided to the customer as a service.

The entire project - from the design of the data warehouse to creating the web-based customer portal - took just 7 months.
